Description: Shrubs or small trees, evergreen; latex white; stems woody, without spines.
Leaves opposite, petiolate.
Inflorescence axillary, cymose. Flowers scented. Corolla salver-shaped, lobes contorted in bud. Corona absent. Stamens included, not adherent to style. Disk absent.
Fruit a berry, globose to ellipsoid.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 5 species (Arabia and eastern Africa); 1 cultivated in Australia and occasionally naturalised.
